Tips

A pass is likely the best option for your trip and takes a lot of the stress out of using public transportation. They also sell passes with discounts to additional attractions, but you’ll need to figure out if the discount for the attractions you are planning on visiting make it worth it.

The 7-day pass is only 2,60 € more than a 72-hour pass so even if you only plan on spending 3 days in Vienna but need to travel to the airport on other days it could make sense to get a 7-day pass since it can save you 4,80 € round trip on your airport ticket if you take the local train. The CAT and VAL bus are not included in any pass option.

Pay attention to which exit you should use if taking the U-Bahn (metro) since taking the wrong one can take you pretty far from where you intend to be, sometimes even on the other side of a river.
